Your Millennium software is capable of sending and receiving text messages through the service provided by Upside Wireless, a Harms partner and provider of US and international text messaging services through its service called MillenniumSMS.

Millennium can send text messages that contain appointment notifications, informational messages or promotions for your products or services.

Your Millennium can also receive messages from your customers' phones. These inbound messages can be replies to appointment reminders (confirmations) or responses to your marketing messages.

To add text messaging capability to your Millennium software you need to have a messaging account with MillenniumSMS and to configure your Millennium to access this online service. This is done in three simple steps:

  1. Open a new on-line account with MillenniumSMS
  2. Configure your Millennium software for sending (see below)
  3. (optional) Configure your MillenniumSMS account to forward SMS replies to your Millennium (see below)

Your Millennium sends text messages by connecting to your MillenniumSMS account via the Internet. It uses your Username and Password to authenticate requests. Before your Millennium can send text messages of any kind you need to link it with your MillenniumSMS account. Here is how:

  1. Open your Millennium software and go to Data -> Business Information menu
  2. Business Information screen opens. Once there, click on Preferences and then on Millennium.SMS tab
  3. On the Millennium.SMS tab, click on the Format Message to enter the text of the message that will be sent to your customers when Millennium sends appointment reminders

     
  4. Click OK
  5. Select Upside Wireless and then enter your messaging account username and password

  7. Click Save

You are now done - you can send text messages from your Millennium to your Customers


In order for incoming messages to be forwarded to your Millennium software, your Millennium software needs to be connected to the Internet. As such, it will have a unique IP address.

This IP address needs to be recorded in your MillenniumSMS account so that it knows where your Millennium is located. Here is how to find IP address of your Millennium:

  1. On your computer, open a web browser and type address: http://www.whatismyipaddress.com  in the address bar
  2. The browser will display your IP address – something like 111.111.1.1 – save this address
  3. Login to your MillenniumSMS account and click on the Contact Us link
  4. Enter "Forwarding Rule" in the Subject field 
  5. In the Your Questions and Comments to Us field, enter "http://111.111.1.1/millenniumsms/millenniumsms.asmx/UpSideReceiveMessage", where "111.111.1.1" is the external IP address of the computer where Millennium SMS was installed.
  6. Enter the verification code that displays, then submit.

The information is sent to Upside Wireless customer support. Your account will be setup to direct any incoming text messages to the address of your Millennium software.
